Which classes are there?
- Realschule: Grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9
- Gymnasium school: probably classes 6, 7, 8 and 9
Unique for grade 6 only at Gymnasium: children must learn French.

Städt. Carl-von-Linde-Realschule, Städt. Ludwig-Thoma-Realschule, Städt. Wilhelm-Busch-Realschule, Städt. Lion-Feuchtwanger-Gymnasium, Städt. Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium.

Registration deadline: 17.04.2026
Examinations
- Grade 5: only in German
- Grade 6, 7, 8 and 9: in the subjects German, English and Maths.
Next examination date: 05.05.2026 (German) and 07.05.2026 (English, Math) at the Schulcampus „Alte Heide“ (Ungererstr. 191, 80805 München).
You will receive an email with the exact exam time and location approximately one week before the exam starts.
Please note: The children need to have approximately level B1 in German.
The results will be announced mid-July.

Städtische Willy-Brandt-Gesamtschule (https://wbg.m-bildung.de/ )
For students who do not yet have any knowledge of German, the Städtische Willy-Brandt-Gesamtschule will offer a special 6th grade class (with subsequent support in the 7th grade) starting in the 2025/2026 school year. The comprehensive school combines three types
of schools: Mittelschule, Realschule and Gymnasium.

For students who have German language skills below B1 level, there will be a 5th starter class at the Städtische Schulartunabhängige Orientierungsstufe from the 2025/2026 school year onwards (with subsequent support in the 6th grade). The orientation stage lasts two years, after which each child receives a recommendation for either a Mittelschule, a Realschule or a Gymnasium.
